“Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage.” – Lao Tzu
Intimate relationships can be invigorating; intimate relationships can be frustrating. But we often feel hopeless and discouraged when we believe that our relationship is failing. I can work with you to rediscover the shared passion, friendship, hope, and love that unify you as a couple.
As relationship conflicts are inevitable, we can work together through these challenges so that you can come out of them with a better understanding of yourself, your partner, and your relationship. My hope is that you and your partner continue to mature in your relationship as you face each challenge with openness, respect and trust, and as loving partners.
Relationship counselling can be done as a couple or as an individual. I offer counselling for issues including, but not limited to:
- Anger/Frustration
- Challenging Transitions
- Communication Challenges
- Co-Parenting Differences
- Differing Values/Beliefs
- Loneliness
- Past Infidelity
- Relationship Insecurities
- Sexual Intimacy
Marriage-Proofing Your Relationship
An engagement is an exciting time for couples – the decision to be life partners, the wedding planning, the anticipation for your future together. However, very few couples take the time to talk about the reality of their lives together during this exciting time. Many couples feel that their relationship is in a good place and do not want to rock the boat, or that it is too costly with all the wedding expenses.
This premarital counselling program is designed so that you and your partner can have a set time and place to uncover your strengths, to discuss your concerns, and to have a shared understanding of your future as a happily married couple. The goals are to strengthen your relationship and to be cost-effective when considering the longevity of your marriage. Because it is inevitable that challenges will pop up in a marriage, it can be helpful to discuss important topics when your relationship is going well (rather than waiting for challenges to arise). Making the time for the relationship, rather than just for wedding planning, can create a solid foundation for your marriage and may seem like a priceless endeavour in the long run!
Each session is 80 minutes long, and the content and the duration of the course will be tailored to your needs as a couple. This course can be offered in office or via Skype/FaceTime.
Baby-Proofing Your Relationship
During pregnancy, we become busy with preparation. We are busy decorating the nursery, purchasing baby-care essentials, and taking childbirth classes. Some of us are even researching top daycares and preschools! However, we often forget to take the time to prepare for the changes and challenges that are inevitable in our lifestyles and in our relationships.
This couples counselling program is designed so that you and your partner can have a set time and a place to discuss issues and to mentally prepare for parenting. A structured private program offers you an opportunity to consider the benefits of mindful parenting and to strengthen your relationship with your partner before your baby arrives.
